There has been excitement about the ability to use colored glass on beacons now. I briefly mentioned making a piston machine to change the colors and decided to put up a quick video of one I have in my playground on my server.
Neat idea! I like how it rotates colors, instead of what i thought it would be, just pick a color and it changes. My only suggestion is to take away maybe 1 layer of glass, as it seems the colors are being very muddled together, and makes them all seem brownish. I think more vibrant colors would look more interesting!

I started with one layer and then was adding layers to see how many color combinations I could get and how smooth I could get the transitions. I was still playing with the repeater timings and stuff when inspiration took me to another semi-related project (a puzzle game). But yeah, the more layers you add, the more the colors just start blending into the same shade.
