Though you may just be making a post to express your love for Zerg it is still considered spam under the Rules. If you'd like to make a private message to Zerg saying this or maybe a shout-out to him in the chat-box then there is no problem there.

You could argue that this is not spam, as there was no conversation in the first place. This is merely starting the conversation. It is also off-topic, so it fits in with the theme of the section. I, personally, see no problem with this post.

Yes, it is arguable, but he's not arguing it at all, so It isn't likely he intended to start an actual discussion on the topic.
If he posted something more, something to continue it then ya it's a viable thread and therefore not spam, until then.
