Building My Own Computer

by zuko135 » Tue Apr 02, 2013 5:00 pm

Ok, so I get a lot of lag and my computer crashes A LOT. And many people say, "Build your own computer zuko! Ya n00b!" So I am doing that. I am building a gaming PC for $400 which can take pretty much everything you through at it. So I did my research (I know right. Zuko? Research? What is this witchcraft?) and here is what it has:

Default
Intel Pentium G850 CPU - $75
Gigabyte GA-H61M-DS2 Motherboard - $45
Asus Radeon HD 7750 Graphics Card: http - $100
4GB Corsair XMS3 1333MHz DDR3 RAM - $20
500GB Western Digital Caviar Blue Hard Drive - $67
500W Cooler Master eXtreme Power Plus Power Supply - $28
Fractal Design Core 1000 MicroATX Case - $40
Operating System - Windows 7 Home Premium - $90 (Will probably use Windows 8)

Suggestions I have been told
CPU: Intel Core i3-2120
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3H
GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD 7770 Graphics Card
Memory: 8GB Corsair XMS3 1333MHz RAM
HDD: 1TB Western Digital Caviar Blue Hard Drive
PSU: 500W Corsair CX500 Power Supply
Case: Antec 300 Case

Any other suggestions? Leave them below and put in the price! :D
I am very excited about this!

zuko, if you want a PC that can take a lot, raise your budget up to more like $600 or $700.

(a major no-no i'd say is the processor, the computers at my school use pentiums and they are horrid)

Alright ill look for a better processor. Also i had this convo b4 with chubby; this PC is great for gaming, its not the greatest but it is good and decent PC for gaming, but i can't have it at like high resolution or high quality on every game. But it will take pretty much every game. Such as:
Steam
Minecraft (FTB)
LoL
WoW
Other downloads too, such as:
Skype
Teamspeak
Plus, I am using my own money for this and the highest i can possibly go now is $400, after my birthday/graduation party, i will probably raise the price range to like $500 or $600 if im lucky

I'd definitely go with windows 8. Its faster works better and is less laggy in minecraft. I dual boot 7 and 8 (never really use 7) and 8 is a lot faster.

As far as processors go, get at LEAST an i5 from Intel, or an AMD A8. Bare minimum. i3's okay I guess, but I've had bad experiences with the pentiums :I

Oh yeah, and... try www.pcpartpicker.com
it's basically a template where you can plan and organize your parts.
