I read the post, but I didn't really understand some of it.
So on December 9-ish, we will be able to move to the new continent taking all of our stuff with us and building then?

EDIT: Also if people wish to stay on the current continent permanently, they are more than welcome to?

If you are helping with spawned are you "flagged" so you can't tp out, also ill try to help with spawn as much as possible!

! I like this idea MUCH more then having the whole reset. Like the idea of a MASSIVE map expansion, and allowing us to travel between them after 3 weeks. This will be great for everyone! I am so helping with spawn. and i already have a town planned out! BUT like you said, i won't make it until the map/continent thingy is realeased.

I love this idea. Probably the best possible option to satisfy everyone's wants.

The one thing I don't understand, and I'm sure you guys can help me on this, is how the new map is being implemented? Is it totally separate, like /mine is now, or is it an expansion on the current one? I assume the former, but I don't understand why the merging landscape is necessary for that case.
