When you are being griefed it is best to pm a mod and ask them for help. Blurting in global rarely works.

Hopefully a mod reads this post and helps you though.

Best thing to do is leave the griefed thing alone and wait until a mod gets online. Tell them to come /boner or log pick it, then they will revert your griefed stuff and bust the person who stole your stuff's chest.

No, the trick with not letting a grief happen is KILL them before they can grief you. I recommend TNT, or if they're afk, dispenser plus splash harming II and a pulser hooked up to it. Have fuuunnn! *Note, warn them before you do it, can also discourage griefing.*
