when i make a nether portal in the normal map i go to a completely mined up nether where almost everything is protected..

when i make a nether portal in /mine it takes me to the end but without a dragon and the portal out is already there.. no egg and no credits upon entering the portal out (thankfully) and when i get out i go to a different nether portal deep underground with torches and stuff placed already

well... THAT happened to me too (going to the end from a nether portal) but i assume it's a bug... so i just tried going into the same portal a second time and it worked normally, just try that
you're doing it right, if you want to mine glowy... better go mine it in regen nether!

To get to regen nether type /mine and build a portal there.
