Securing Your Web Browsing

Everyday, hackers get a little bit smarter on getting your info. But there is a way to secure your browsing which is simply typing https:// at the beginning of the url to any site. Some sites may not be secure though, and if you have a virus protector, than your protector will alert you on which ones arent safe.

Btw, i tried to use this on this site, but i got this message:

"kreatious.net uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate is not trusted because it is self-signed.
The certificate is only valid for nfoservers.com
The certificate expired on 2/4/2011 12:02 PM. The current time is 12/27/2011 8:45 AM.

(Error code: sec_error_expired_issuer_certificate)"

Erm.. This only works if the site uses (or has the option to use) SSL/TLS encryption, which is what makes HTTPS secure. Hence why it didn't work on our site.

For more information, and a method of securing your browsing on compatible sites, you can check out EFF's "HTTPS Everywhere" project.

Oh, and this section is intended for serious desicion making discussions regarding Kreatious matters. Moved to off-topic. ;)
