Seriously though, the mod's page will most likely show you how to do it. Usually, you just have to right click on your minecraft.jar and click on open with Winrar. You then do the same for the zip file of your mod. Lastly, you drag the mod's contents into the minecraft.jar.

Obviously, some mods are different; ceratin mods will make you put things into the sounds folder, or others; The mod's page will tell you what to do.

i dun even use mods. I sometimes use hack-clients but thats about it.

Download the file, open it, get the class files, and put them into the class file in the %appdata%. One of the easiest mods to download.
