I typed /mine and spawned inside something. lost a lot of diamond equipment, /recover doesnt work.
is it possible to get this stuff back or is it gone forever?

your items should still be there. I did /setjob 1 where I died went to spawn did /home and it spawned me ON TOP of the block. then I digged down got my items and got out.

As for OP post: Like others said, the items should still be there. If not, I am afraid that you have lost your item; it's happened to most of us at one point in time.
