Curious about the new map + items being returned

I'm just curious about how the items will come back to us after the new map? My chests have me and my friend's names on them and are locked with the sign, but i'm wondering how the chests will come back to us.
Also is it safer to put items in your inventory or chests?

Items will only be obtainable from recovery chests by the person who place the [Private] Sign on the chest all items will be easily recoverable. The new map will be opening at midnight CST tonight Friday December 9th

Ok, so to confirm, Only I can take stuff from the chest if I was the one who made the sign even though my friend's name is on there?
Also, the actual question i was asking was HOW we will get the chests back with items, will they be spawned next to us in a random coordinate or something??

From messing around a lil... theres gona be a new command (/transfer or /recover) that will spew 27 stacks of stuff round you...

You can then plop this in a chest

Or you could use the recovery chest at spawn... but thats gona be very busy
