Gravity Tax?

So, sometimes when a player dies, it will say :
And I was just wondering, to whom do we pay gravity tax(or bill)? Is it a real thing, or is it just something to signal that a player has died from a great deal of fall damage? This has really boggled my mind. And I was just wondering if we can actually pay gravity tax to not die from fall damage. Probably not though.

Irish is just trolling you; To pay the gravity tax, you need to give 2+ diamonds to KieranChocian in-game. He will then grant you the power to negate fall damage.
