I'd have to say the only ones I really entirely agree with are Flame Charge and Clock, the rest have their uses in adventure maps.

I always found the Minecart with Furnace a dead block.. You can just carry a furnace whereever you go.. And rails aren't infinite and can't go to every single little area. However, your feet can and your inventory can hold furnaces, 64 per stack. I'll have to say Furnace with Minecart.

Compass can be useful for survival or adventure mode, So that ones out.

Clock, I'll say it's deemed useless due to the fact that you can see the sun and which way it goes. The only way I can find it useful is when in a cave, and you don't want to go outside at night.

Fire Charge.. Same as Flint and Steel. Perhaps Fire Charge has more durability? I don't know, but basically a duplicate block.

Minecart with furnaces don't smelt things, they push minecarts along non-powered rails when you put coal in them.


also, clock, I have never used a clock for survival. Its just pointless.
