What are you talking about with x-ray hacking and fly hacking? i'm confused on how you say this because of how you said it.

it ruins everything kreatious was founded on.

Kreatious was founded from Qustom not listening to ANYONE and doing what he likes, so calling zerg qustom is redundant really. Second off everyone left to Kreatious because Kreatious was non pvp where Vanillacraft is. There has never been a mention of grief being related to Kreatious, except where most of our old mods when backed and griefed...i guess XD


Oh and how does grief at all relate to a friendly community?
And how has the server been ruined? I don't see anyone but you complaining? maybe if we had some actual proof it would seem more realistic =/

I don't want anyone to take what I've said the wrong way. What I was trying to say is that, for the small percentage of players who DO just want to continuously grief a server, and completely destroy everything, perma-bans shouldn't be out of the question. After all, with the new(ish?) Minecraft client, you can list out as many servers as you please. If a ban is permanent, that player is likely going to drop Kreatious from that list, and move on to other griefable servers; however, if the ban says it's only for a day or two, they may just keep it on that list, and check back in later, and (assuming the new plugins have already been implemented to prevent what last occurred) find a NEW way to cause havoc and misfortune.

And BY NO MEANS should a perma-ban be anywhere near the player's first offense. It should be well after several other warnings and bans. Scenario: Griefer uses mass amounts of tnt/lava/fire etc to an extent that the auto-revert and/or Eve can't repair it. Player responds to mods with a terrible attitude, swearing, threatening, etc., and is banned for a day. That player comes online the next day and does the exact same thing. If this were to repeat, let's say, 4 or 5 times, with the same pattern, and that player shows no sign of changing his or her behavior, THEN I would say a perma-ban may be the only logical option. (Purely hypothetical, but 100% plausible.)

This ensures that Zerg's intentions, of no player feeling like they're walking on thin ice, is upheld for conscious players. You really have to be TRYING to be permanently banned, in order to be permanently banned. This really leaves no room for being permanently banned by mistake.

Of course, even assuming a player feels he or she does not deserve to be permanently banned, he or she can still always appeal their ban. Although actions that should warrant a permanent ban likely leave little room for excuses, there is still always the option to do so.

Forgive me if it seems like I'm trying to put anyone's ideas down. I'm just providing my own input to help Kreatious be the best server it can be. I totally agree that temporary bans USUALLY get the job done; this is just my view on the small percentage of players that temp bans DON'T work for. :)

I think it should be a perm ban one person actually destroys a place with TNT to an extent where it cant be an accident or makes it look stupid and pimpy by spamming diamond blocks all over the place.

Some people are crazy enough to repeatedly ruin the server no matter how many times they get banned.
So i still think mods/admins/vtns should have an oppurtunity to perma-ban someone if they just keep comming back for more.
Keep the server safer and prevent that damn person from coming back and ruining my melon farm every single time im offline
Weird thing is i cant find him on the logs.....
Still allow the mods/vtns/admins to perma-ban people under strict conditions.
We dont want the mods to go crazy perma-banning everyone in sight (not like you'd do that or anything) :D

You just burned down their Nazi flag? Yes, it is an obscene structure, but you still have no right to burn it down. You should have told a Mod to do it, and they could've rolled it back. Burning it down is NOT the solution at all. It juts causes problems.
Anyways, I do agree with Bubba somewhat. People who do things like that, and just log on, and get banned within a hour obviously don't deserve anymore chances. If people have already been banned multiple times I don't see why they deserve anymore chances. Say someone got banned 6 times, for different things. Do you really think he's going to change? Probably not.
Of course, the key word being probably, we still have to analyze this from the bigger bunch. Maybe some would change, but most wouldn't. I know some of the people that Zerg unbanned that just got banned again. Doesn't that say something? They got permbanned before, and they get another chance, and they still get banned. I think that's the time permanent bans have to come into effect. I don't understand why perm bans are so bad if they really deserve it.

I still have to disagree with the lack of permabans. And for the same reasons as Supermariobubba pointed out. They just want to troll the server, and get a reaction out of us. Sure, they know they can be banned, but once they figure out that "Kreatious doesn't do permabans," their window of opportunity widens. They just keep coming back and doing the exact same things over and over again. After a certain number of warnings and bans, there needs to be a cutoff point. There needs to be a limit on what these players can destroy and get away with. At some point, we just need to say, "you're done here," and permanently remove them from our community.

Yes, temporary bans are great. They give players a chance to think about what they're doing, and potentially change. They also give Zerg time to implement new codes to prevent it from happening again. And for most malicious players, a couple of temporary bans will be enough to divert their griefing elsewhere. But for the ones who stubbornly keep coming back to cause havoc, there needs to be consequences.
